3 Energy Efficient New Builds in Leicester

We used to live in the farmhouse on the bottom of the plot; so the land was ours. After we eventually got the planning permission to build three properties, we used an architect called White Design based in Bristol; they have a sustainable development background that we felt worked in with our ideas about use of energy. We knew we wanted to make them as green as possible, so we chose to do timber frame, and we plumbed for Internorm Windows since they are the best option in terms of looks and environment.

In terms of design, we were looking for plenty of light and lots of glass, because we wanted a really light house. We chose triple glazed because of the sound and the extra U-Value, and Internorm because the looks really are that something extra.

We were recommended Ecotec by Paul Roberts from Internorm; we had a very positive experience; they were really helpful and very responsive very supportive. The process was extremely easy. We had to hire in a crane, and our windows sat on great big palettes for a while – we’ve still got one, we’re going to turn it into a swing for the kids! The installation itself went very quickly once everyone was in place. The whole thing was successful down to Ecotec’s attention to detail.

Now that the project is finished, we’re really very pleased with the windows, not just in terms of their look, but also how they function. You’re obviously paying slightly more for Internorm but I honestly couldn’t recommend them enough. They’ve been in for two years now and they look like new.
